Save the QE2 - QE2,  In November 2008 the world famous and iconic Ocean Liner Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) retired from service. The goal was to convert her into a floating hotel in Dubai. Sadly, due to the global financial crisis, QE2 has remained docked in Dubai. She is well cared for by her owners, with a 50 person live in crew mainting the ship to a very high standard.

However, as time passes, the future for QE2 becomes more and more at risk. This iconic British Ocean Liner needs a saviour. This website aims to give you access to the latest QE2 news, articles, books and resources so that we can together spread the word about QE2's plight and work together to secure her future.

QE2 to leave Dubai for Singapore in either August or September

02 April 2013:A new report has been released relating to QE2's fate. This report from Arabian Business News states that the QE2 will remain in Dubai until August, or perhaps September 2013. Singapore has been listed as the destination. Read The Report »

QE2 London: Not Giving Up

14 March 2013: Today QE2 London's official twitter account said, "We continue to have progress with the QE2 London project sorry cannot be specific"... QE2 Fans watch and wait.

17 January 2013: Shortly after the official announcement that QE2 was heading to Asia, QE2 London issued this statement:

"Regarding the newspaper reports, QE2 London's view is that we have seen many press stories from Dubai over the last 4 years regarding the future of QE2, which have all proven to be inaccurate. We believe our investors can show Dubai that QE2 London is still the best proposal."

QE2 to become Luxury Floating Hotel?

17 January 2013: "QE2 Dubai, has the pleasure to announce that MS Queen Elizabeth 2 Known popularly as (QE2) will be moved today to Drydocks World Dubai for undertaking classification checks prior to her renovation as a luxury floating hotel.

Before her retirement to Dubai on 11th November 2008, the QE2 took regular cruises around the world as well as operating a scheduled liner service across the Atlantic Ocean between Southampton in the UK and New York.
